Barry to step down as 1st VP Bai Dodou Jallow opt for Volleyball Presidency

Yunusa Barry is set to relinquish his position as President of The Gambia Volleyball Federation ahead of the body’s elective congress set for later this month.

Barry is stepping down after the end of his term and has declared his full support to his 1st Vice President Bai Dodou Jallow for the December 29th congress.

Jallow is contesting for volleyball’s highest office following his nomination by Gamtel/Gamcel and Gambia Armed Forces volleyball clubs respectively before gathering support from all the affiliated clubs.

A release from the body’s media office states that: “The Volleyball Congress will be held on December 29th 2018 and the full list of executive under Mr Jallow will be announced soon. Gambia volleyball federation will send a special tribute to the man (Yunusa Barry) who transformed volleyball as Gambia’s most evolving sports.”
