Touray winner sends Salford to League Two

Gambia left-back Ibou Touray scored the winning goal for Salford City who secured a 3-0 win over AFC Fylde at Wembley to secure promotion to the English League Two.

Salford went ahead after 15 minutes before doubling their lead eight minutes after half-time when Carl Piergianni charged into the box and leapt high to head home an Ibou Touray corner.

Red Scorpions crowned women league champions

Red Scorpions have been crowned champions of the Gambia women’s First Division league after their goalless draw against The Gambia Armed Forces marked the end of the women’s top flight season.

The Jeshwang-based outfit, who wrapped up the league campaign weeks ago, didn’t end the season on a high as they were held by a resilient Armed Forces side at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
