Gambia international Ebrima Sohna says he will give out his match allowances to fans henceforth he plays at home with the Scorpions.
Sohna, currently with the Scorpions in Lome, disclosed the package to The Gambia Football Federation’s Communication Department on Wednesday afternoon shortly before the team went on day two of their training session.
“Henceforth, I will dedicate my match allowances to the fans whenever the team plays home where I might be part of,” Sohna stated.
He said the package will be used to purchase tickets for the fans as part of complimenting the Federation’s efforts to popularize and bring people to the games.
“The tickets could be used to encourage the fans in the form of competition on questions relating to the Scorpions so that fans would know their players well”.
Sohna, who plays in Azerbaijan for Kesla FK, has been a key member of the Scorpions in their home game with Algeria that earned the Gambia its first vital point in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers when they drew 1-1 with the Foxes on Match Day Two.
The Scorpions will host the Sparrow Hawks of Togo in Banjul next week Tuesday October 16 in Match Day Four just after playing away in Lome tomorrow, Friday 12 October, at the Stade Municipal in Lome at 16:00hrs.
Meanwhile, according to the GFF’s 1st Vice President and Head of Delegation, Bakary K. Jammeh who is currently with the Scorpions in Lome, all is going well with the team and meeting their programs on time.
He said tickets and t-shirts are available in anticipation of receiving Gambian fans in Togo, Ghana and Benin that have made plans to travel and cheer up the Scorpions hence the close proximity of the cities around Lome.
