Yusupha Njie completes Reims switch

Scorpions winger Yusupha Njie has completed a switch to promoted French Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims, Gambia Sports can report.

The 24-year-old signed a four-year contract on the dotted lines on Monday after the French club agreed a €2.5m deal with Portuguese side Boavista.

The Porto-based club turned the 5ft 8in former Real de Banjul forward’s loan from Moroccan club FUS de Rabat permanent at the end of the season.

Reims beat French giants AS Monaco and Marseille to securing the signature of the Scorpions international.

Njie, son of legendary Gambian footballer Alhaji Momodou Njie alias Biri-Biri, scored four goals in 17 appearances for the Portuguese club.

He joins compatriot Hassane Kamara at the Stade Auguste-Delaune club.
