Raymond Mendy joins Swedish side Skellefteå FF

Gambian forward Raymond Mendy has penned the dotted lines for Swedish third-tier club Skellefteå FF until the end of the season, Gambia Sports can confirm.

The 22-year-old joined the Division 1 side after a brief trial leaving a positive impression on coach Dan Burlin who gave his go ahead for a contract to be tabled in front of the Gambian.

“He is a player with great technique and good playing sense,” sports director Johan Logart-Viklund said of his club’s new acquisition.

The versatile midfielder penned a deal with Maltese club Gżira United in February but the deal hit the buffers after he failed to be given a work permit.

The skillful attacking player joins Skellefteå on a free transfer from Tunisian side CS Sfaxien.
