Scorpions youngster Alasana Manneh opened his goal scoring account for SFC Etar Veliko Tarnovo in their 2-1 defeat at Bulgarian giants CSKA Sofia at the weekend.
The 19-year-old, sent on loan to Etar by parent club, FC Barcelona, leveled for the visitors in Sofia, through a sumptuous strike after they had fallen behind.
But Etar couldn’t hold on to snatch a point from CSKA who wrapped up the game four minutes from time to condemn Manneh’s side to their fifth defeat in nine matches.
The defeat leaves them lying at 12th on the 14-team Bulgarian top-tier with 21 points and will now go through the relegation play-offs.
Alasana, dubbed Morro, joined Barcelona last summer after impressing at the Aspire Academy in Qatar, which he’d joined having previously played at the Aspire Football Dreams centre in Senegal.
He was recently handed his Scorpions call-up by coach Sang Ndong against Benin in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
