Gambia First Division club Real de Banjul have announced the appointment of assistant coach Majorr Saine as its new gaffer ahead of the 2017/18 league season.

Saine, who is in his fourth season with the club, signs on a one-season contract with an option for an extension.

“I am proud to be the coach of Real de Banjul after three years as assistant. Real de Banjul is the most successful club in the Gambia and I am looking forward to continuing that success. I would like to thank the management for the trust and confidence they have shown in me,” Saine told the club’s official website.

Majorr will be assisted by former Real de Banjul midfielder Ebrima Joof with Abdoulie Bakary Njie, Saihou Manjang and Ebrima Cham continuing their roles as goalkeeper trainer, youth team coach and trainer respectively.

The City Boys also confirmed the transfer of trio Cherno Jobe, Bubacarr Sonko and Alieu Jallow to Senegalese club Génération Foot.
