Tears of disappointment for Hawks players, fans after CAF Confed. exit

It was a moment of disappointment and disbelief for the players and fans of Hawks FC after a shocking 2-0 loss to Akwa United of Nigeria, in the second leg of the first round of qualifiers in the CAF Confederation Cup on Wednesday night.

Fans travelled to the Independence Stadium with the hope of watching Hawks complete the work they started in Uyo after a 2-1 away win in the first leg.

Sohna guides Keşla to first league win after five months

Gambia combative midfielder Ebrima Sohna guided Keşla FK to their first Azerbaijan Premier League win after five months after they edged Kapaz PFK 1-0 on Independence Day.

The Scorpion international, who left Finnish Veikkausliiga club Vaasan Palloseura to put pen to paper on a short-term deal with Keşla, starred the entire 90 minutes to ensure they return to the capital city of Baku, with the maximum points.

Visiting football scouts impressed with Gambian talents

Two of the visiting seven football scouts in the country have expressed satisfaction with the talents discovered during their three day trial at the QCity Sports Complex in Bijilo.

They are visiting The Gambia as guests of the Super Stars Academy FC, Ebo Town-based academy. The academy was formed in March, 2017.

Full Almería debut for Marreh

Gambia midfielder Sulayman Marreh played his first full game for UD Almería who secured a 3-0 win over Sevilla II on Sunday.

The 22-year-old made the switch to the Andalusia-based club on a six-month loan deal last month after failing to impress at Real Valladolid, where he was earlier sent on loan.
