Modou Lamin Beyai is a young, enthusiast and energetic sports reporter who currently loves what he is doing. He Started my journalism career in 2009 at City Limits Radio as a Sports Producer, Editor and Presenter before making the career switch to unarguably the best institution in terms of sports broadcasting, West Coast Radio in 2011.
He first worked at West Coast Radio as an IT Manager before rising through the ranks to become Assistant Head of Sports. During his four-year stay at the West Coast Radio, he also worked on the premier Gambia Sports website ( now defunct) as Online Editor. He left the institution in December 2015 and joined one of the biggest Football Clubs in the Gambia, Real de Banjul Football Club, as Media Officer. At Real de Banjul FC, Beyai was responsible for PR job and made it the much talked about Football Club in The Gambia. As interest in the Club grew, great players were marketed and sold along to other clubs around the world. For example, the transfers of players such as Bubacarr ‘Steve’ Trawally and Bubacarr Sanneh were amongst the deals he was heavily involved in making them as successful.
Between 2013-2015, Beyai worked as Head of Sports for UK-based IQ4News International and covered African sports for the website before becoming Presenter of Sports Link, a sports chat show relayed over Gambia TV ( GRTS) and YouTube.
He also combines the role of a PR Manager for some of Gambia’s prominent footballers in his busy schedule and hence, describe himself as a “Journo-Preneur” who is sharing globally from Africa.
